As many as nine out of ten of the total appointments made on the online booking and garage comparison website BookMyGarage are for a combination of service and MOT work.
Over the past rolling 12-months (October 2024 to September 2025 for which data analysis is available), this ‘bread & butter’ work accounted for between 84% (June 2025) and 91% (October 2024) of all bookings made on the platform.
In September 2025, all bookings on the platform grew a significant 32% YOY (vs Sept 24) with 90% of these bookings for combined MOT and service appointments.
An analysis of the total number of bookings for all servicing, MOT and repair work in 2025 reveals that the platform is on track for a record year of generating additional customer retail work for its partner garages and the franchised network.
BookMyGarage chief marketing officer Jessica Potts added: “We are very excited to be on track for a record year this year for MOT and service bookings. This customer demand provides our garage partners with a reliable stream of predictable bookings for ‘bread & butter’ work that is low on complexity and doesn’t tie up ramps, resulting in maximum efficiency. There is also the upsell opportunity presented through those vehicles where the garage can undertake additional repair work.
“The ongoing confidence drivers place in using our platform for these services has proved itself to be a reliable revenue booster for workshops.
“The data is clear – garages can thrive when they attract regular work from consumers needing MOTs, servicing, and other bread and butter work. But the real opportunity lies in filling the quieter gaps, and last-minute cancellations. At BookMyGarage, we don’t just help garages get found – we’re helping them get smart about when to attract more new customers, filling capacity with highly efficient work. With December fast approaching, many garages may be seeing gaps in their diaries, but that doesn’t mean ramps have to sit empty.
“We still have considerable demand on our platform for MOT and service work during this time and encourage garages to consider utilising our platform to ensure continual profitability. It’s about being in the right place, at the right time when drivers are in-market for these services in your local area.”
