TRICO is sponsoring the Tockwith Motorsports (TMS) Ginetta G50 in the Britcar Endurance/Sprint Championship, with drivers Edward Moore and Marmaduke Hall.

Race day on Friday started with an early practice session, followed by qualifying and then the first race, for which Edward had qualifed an impressive 13th overall – first in Class – well into the Class 3 territory, with a 1min 11.449. Having achieved an average of 99.71mph, all boded well for the forthcoming races.

As the lights turned green for race one, Edward made a characteristically great start and after just a few laps, was already into 9th place. It was then that the race turned on its head, as over the radio came the call that the water temperature was rising dangerously, so it was back to the pits where the TMS crew immediately set to work looking to identify and rectify the issue. Sadly, it was not something that was resolvable track side and ultimately resulted in a DNF for both races.

Edward and Marmaduke were inevitably disappointed, but maturely sanguine with the situation as it wasn’t a fault that had given the slightest warning prior to the race. The positives to take away however, were the pace of both drivers and car, so they are looking forward to the next round at Oulton with every hope and the expectation of a successful and rewarding outing!

TRICO Product and Brand Manager, Sam Robinson said:  “We’re naturally disappointed with the outcome of the event, but both drivers are excellent TRICO ambassadors and really help to get our brand messages over to the UK’s motorists. Drivers’ safety is a very important message which we particularly need to get across to younger drivers, and is an audience with whom both Edward and Marmaduke bring us credibility.

“We wish them well for the next race at Oulton Park on the 21st October.”
